PM holds high-level meetings at WEF 2026…

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who departed for Switzerland on Monday (19) to participate in the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), held a series of high-level bilateral meetings during her visit. On January 20, she met with Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, and Tharman Shanmugaratnam, the President of the Republic of Singapore. 

She also held discussions with Hassan El Houry, the Chairman of Menzies Aviation, focusing on collaboration in aviation services and connectivity, and with Masato Kanda, the President and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank, at the WEF Congress Centre in Davos-Klosters. In addition, the Prime Minister held a productive meeting with European Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jozef Síkela, to discuss strengthening Sri Lanka–EU cooperation. 

The World Economic Forum 2026, convened under the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue”, brings together over 3,000 global leaders, including heads of state, government leaders, chief executives of leading multinational corporations, policymakers, and technology innovators.
