DNA to go to SC over Fonseka’s seat

October 8, 2010   11:07 am

We will go to the Supreme Court against the desicion to vacate the Parliamentary seat of Sarath Fonseka, Democratic National Alliance (DNA) Secratery Vijitha Herath told Ada Derana today.

He claims that the court martial does not come under the constitution and is not a recognized court, hence he added that the decision of the Court-martial should not have a bearing on a persons parliamentary seat.

Vijitha Herath further added that the hearing of the appeal regarding the first Court Martial decision against the former Army Chief Sarath Fonseka is sheduled to take place today (08 October).
