Three days in the dark, complain Ukuwela residents

Around 10 houses at Thawalankoya in Ukuwela have been suffering a power cut for the last three days, complain residents of the area.
These residents from Thawalankoya, a few kilometres
from the Matale town on the Wattegama road have been without electricity since
around 11.00 am on Wednesday (Oct. 06). Their complaints to the Ceylon
Electricity Board (CEB) office in Matale have not yielded results, they
complain.
The response from the CEB Area Office has been that
they had dispatched a team to rectify the fault. But no such team has visited
the affected homes, according to the residents. However, some repairmen had
arrived to a place about a kilometre away and replaced some overhead cables to
recommence supplies to a few other houses.
The rest are still waiting for another day to see
their supplies recommence, though they pay their electricity bills regularly.
