62-year-old woman found murdered inside house at Nanneriya

A 62-year-old woman has reportedly been murdered inside her home in the Pirikkulama area of the Nanneriya police division. 

Police have commenced an investigation based on information received after her son had informed a neighbor that she was not responding to phone calls.

Initial investigations suggest the woman had died several days ago, and the case has been classified as a homicide. An axe was also found near the body, police said.

Police stated that the deceased woman’s husband had previously passed away, and her two daughters and son were employed away from home, leaving her alone in the residence.

Nanneriya Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
