Colombo. 14 October 2010. Janashakthi Insurance PLC, the most profitable insurer in the first half of 2010 and a trend setter in insurance, created history yet again with the launch of “Full Option Vehicle Emergency Policy” in September. Barely a month since it was launched, Janashakthi’s revolutionary “Full Option Vehicle Emergency Policy” has turned out to be a tremendous success and a favourite among Sri Lankan motorists from all parts of the country.

General Manager Sales and Marketing Ravi Liyanage said, “We’re very pleased with the overwhelming response we have received from thousands of motorists across the country. This response is not only from motorists who are insured with Janashakthi Full Option but all motorists around Sri Lanka insured with other insurance companies as well. With its wide ranging facilities and services, the Full Option Vehicle Emergency Policy has indeed blazed a trail and emerged as one of the best-ever products Sri Lanka’s insurance industry has experienced in recent times.”

“Creating yet another revolution in Sri Lanka’s insurance industry, this much acclaimed industry first is operative 24 hours a day and 365 days of the year. It is not only for Janashakthi customers but also for all motorists all over Sri Lanka.” he added.

The first call since the launch was from Mr. W.P.L.K. Abeyagunawardana from Kollupitiya who encounter a petrol block thus needing urgent towing. On the very same week the “Rapid Recovery Force” received another SOS from Ms. R.N Jayasekera from Dematagoda with regard to the vehicle not starting.

The ‘Rapid Recovery Force’ initially tried to jump start the vehicle but failed. Then the fuses were checked, connected and in order. The battery was checked again and it was diagnosed that an earth wire connecting to the engine block was disconnected. Hence the battery was dead and could not be jump-started. The team on site then assisted Ms. Jayasekera to purchase a new battery thereafter, fixing it themselves, with the vehicle in running condition within hours of the call.

Ms. Jayasekera said she greatly appreciated the peace of mind brought to Sri Lanka’s hundreds of thousands of motorists in any part of the country knowing that Janashakthi’s instant vehicle emergency service is only a phone call away. “I was very relieved to know that a comprehensive service like this exists, to help distressed motorists in their hour of need. I wish to thank Janashakthi Full Option for their assistance,” she added.

The distinct advantage of this policy is that it is available to all motorists in Sri Lanka who own private cars and dual purpose vehicles no matter whom their insured with.

Janashakthi Full Option existing customers enjoy the benefits of this Policy at Rs. 750 (inclusive of taxes).

Janashakthi’s Third Party Policy holders will get this Policy at Rs. 2,500 inclusive of taxes. In this instance the Third Party Cover will be offered free of charge and included within the same premium.

Parallely all non-Janashakthi customers will also enjoy the Policy at Rs. 2,500 inclusive of taxes with the same array of benefits to that of all customers across the board.

Head of Marketing at Janashakthi Insurance PLC Paddy Weerasekera said, “Our 120 strong technically qualified and experienced support team “Rapid Recovery Force” is supported by a fleet of vans, bikes, tow trucks and over 130 authorized garages island wide to reach customers in the quickest possible time.”
