A public meeting organized by the ‘Sarvajana Balaya’ alliance was held in Nuwara Eliya yesterday (07), with the alliance’s presidential candidate, entrepreneur Dilith Jayaweera, joining the event through video conference.

He participated remotely due to his involvement in the presidential candidate debate held in Colombo yesterday (7).

During his address, Jayaweera criticized traditional political platforms for making empty promises and leaving people with a difficult life.

He emphasized that the ‘Sarvajana Balaya’ alliance has presented a program aimed at improving living standards, promising a minimum household income of Rs. 100,000.

He also said, “It is not difficult to make your daily salary Rs. 2,000. But it should be done scientifically. I don’t think you can get this amount by placing the burden only on the employers. We have a plan for that.”
