NPP wins 2 seats, SJB and ITAK secure one each in Trincomalee

The Election Commission of Sri Lanka has released the final results of the Trincomalee District in the 2024 General Election with the National People’s Power (NPP) polling more than 42% of the total votes in the district. 

NPP has polled 87,031 votes to win the district while the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) is second with 53,058 votes (25.9%).

Accordingly, the NPP has secured 2 seats in the district while the SJB and ITAK have won one seat each in the district. 

National People’s Power (NPP) – 87,031 (2 seats)
Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) – 53,058 (1 seat)
ITAK – 34,168 (1 seat)
New Democratic Front (NDF) – 9,387
Democratic National Alliance (DNA) – 4,868
