NPP wins 5 seats in Nuwara Eliya District

The Election Commission of Sri Lanka has released the final results of the Nuwara Eliya District in the 2024 General Election with the National People’s Power (NPP) polling more than 41% of the total votes in the district. 

NPP has polled 161,167 votes to win the district while the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) is second with 53,200 votes (26.21%).

Accordingly, the NPP has secured 5 seats in the district while the SJB has won two seats and the UNP a single seat in the district. 

National People’s Power (NPP) – 161,167 (5 seats)
Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) – 101,589 (2 seat)
United National Party (UNP) – 64,672 (1 seat)
United Democratic Voice (UDV) – 18,606 
Nuwara Eliya – Independent Group 06 – 6,895
