NPP secures 12 seats, SJB secures 3 in Kurunegala

The Election Commission of Sri Lanka has released the final results of the Kurunegala District in the 2024 General Election with the National People’s Power (NPP) polling more than 69% of the total votes in the district. 

NPP has polled 651,476 votes to win the district while the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) is second with 189,394 votes (20.22%).

Accordingly, the NPP has secured 12 seats in the district while the SJB has won 3 seats in the district. 

National People’s Power (NPP) – 651,476 (12 seats)
Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) – 189,394 (3 seats)
Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) – 35,236
New Democratic Front (NDF) – 30,073
 ‘Sarvajana Balaya’ (SRJB) – 9,999
