A decision has been made to lodge a complaint at the Human Rights Commission regarding the alleged injustices faced by the student Buddhist monks of the Sri Jayawardenapura University, Venerable Kamburupitiye Gnaneswara Thera said.

The Thero, who is the Arts Faculty Students’ Union Secretary at the J’pura Universiity, stated that the complaint will be handed today morning.

17 student Buddhist monks were suspended recently due to an alleged incident that took place between the student monks and the university administration at a hostel on 24 October.

However several of those suspended student monks were not present at the hostel at the time of the incident, Gnaneswara Thera revealed.
