February 8, 2025   09:15 am

The Salt Producers’ Association has stated that the import of salt will be further delayed due to the delays in issuing the necessary certificates by the Food Control Administration Unit of the Ministry of Health.

The Chairman of the association, Ganaka Amarasinghe warned that this delay would likely worsen the country’s salt shortage.

He further emphasized that the deadline for importing salt is set to end on February 28.
