Produce raw footage of Fonseka’s speech; Court orders Derana

November 24, 2010   02:13 pm

The Colombo High Court today ordered TV Derana to produce the raw footage of the speech of the then Presidential Candidate Sarath Fonseka made at a rally in Rathnapura. The High Court gave this order when the ‘White flag’ case was taken up.

The prosecution had produced several videos of the Fonseka’s speeches telecast on TV stations and one such video was taken for observation today.

The Defendant’s attorney then raised objection that producing a part of the footage was illegal and that the raw footage should be produced.

The High Court then agreeing to the objection ordered TV Derana to produce the raw footage of the speech.
