His Eminence Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith returned to the country a short while ago today. A special ceremony had been organized at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) premises in order to greet the new Cardinal, says Ada Derana reporter.

While Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith had been greeted by the Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne, a large population of people had gathered at the airport and also on both sides of the road just to catch a glimpse of his eminence.

The Cardinal was later transported towards the Basilica of Our Lady of Sri Lanka at Tewatta, Ragama in a specially constructed vehicle.
