Kottawa shooting victim succumbs to injuries

One person has reportedly been injured in a shooting incident at Malapalla in Kottawa.

The shooting had taken place near a temple int he area this evening (8) while the injured person has been admitted to the Homagama Hospital, police said.


UPDATE: The 43-year-old person injured in the shooting incident at Malapalla, Kottawa has succumbed to his injuries, the Police confirmed.

Police further mentioned that the deceased person is a resident of Embilipitiya area.

Police suspect that the shooting was carried out using a pistol, while no information has been revealed how the assailant arrived at the crime scene.

Investigations are underway to arrest the suspects, the police noted.
