‘Meenagaya’ train derails after colliding with elephant

The ‘Meenagaya’ Intercity Express train, which was operating from Colombo Fort to Batticaloa, has derailed.

It is also reported that the derailment occurred between Hataras Kotuwa and Habarana railway stations due to the train colliding with a wild elephant.
