Heavy showers above 75mm expected in several areas today

Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-western and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts today (25), the Department of Meteorology said.
Fairly heavy falls above 75 mm are likely at some places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Nuwara-Eliya and Kandy districts, the Met Department added.
A few showers may occur elsewhere.
Meanwhile, strong winds of about 40-50 kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills and in the Northern, North-central, Western, Southern and North-western provinces and in the Trincomalee and Monaragala districts.
