UPDATE: Udul granted bail, completely barred from Student movement activities

Inter University Student Federation convenor Udul Premarathne has been granted bail by the Colombo High Court today.  Premaratna had been arrested and remanded for forcibly entering the Ministry of Higher Education premises and damaging government property. He was release on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 and a personal bail of Rs. 500,000.

 

The Colombo High Court barred Udul from participating in pasting posters and taking part in meetings related to student movements completely.

 

If complaints are received that he took part in any such activity the High Court had stated that his bail will be cancelled and taken into remand custody again.
