Dehiwala man arrested for defrauding Rs. 50 mn from 150 individuals by promising foreign jobs

An individual has been arrested in connection with defrauding over Rs. 50 million from around 150 individuals by falsely promising foreign employment opportunities.

A suspect was taken into custody last evening (24) in Kirulapone over alleged financial fraud.

He was then presented before the Slave Island Police Station.

Subsequently, an investigation conducted by a team of officers from the Colombo Central Divisional Crime Detective Bureau, the individual involved in large-scale financial fraud was taken into custody.

The arrested suspect is a 37-year-old resident of Dehiwala.

The Slave Police is conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
