TV Derana wins top honors at Sumathi Awards 2025

TV Derana’s ‘Missaka Pawwa’ programme has won the award for Best Documentary Programme at the Sumathi Awards 2025.

Meanwhile, Ada Derana’s ‘Education’ programme won the Sumathi Digital Award.

TV Derana’s Bhanuka Karunaratne received the award for Best TV News Presenter of the Year.

‘Ada Derana Education Digital’ was awarded Best Current Affairs Programme in the Social Media sector.

In addition, Ada Derana’s Nadun Abeyratne received the award for Best Television Current Affairs Reporting 2nd for the programme titled “Yakadayata Panadun Kele Vedda”.

The 30th edition of Sumathi Awards, one of the most popular television awards shows in Sri Lanka, was held this evening at the Monarch Imperial in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte.

This year’s ceremony recognized excellence in news and current affairs, television programmes, and teledramas aired across all Sri Lankan television channels between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024.
