VIDEO: Ranil will be UNP leader as long as he’s alive – Earl

The UNP is an enormous party comprised of great gentlemen, however presently it has suffered an astonishingly miserable fate due to the actions by the party’s leader, says Earl Gunasekara. It was those same actions that led to us having to leave the party, he expressed.

The United National Party’s recently held convention and the so called democracy they achieved through it was just another farce, these are what I call ‘Seeni Bola’ solutions, the now defunct UNP member who freshly crossed over to the government stated.

He claimed that Ranil Wickremesinghe is an expert at giving such ‘Seeni Bola’ solutions.

After the conclusion of the convention on November 12th the party split in to two fractions. The ideal example is that on the following day Ranil Wickremesinghe held a separate press conference while Sajith Premadasa, Buddhika Pathirana, Dayasiri Jayasekara and the rest held a separate press conference, the Plantation Industries Deputy Minister said.

If they had united and made amends after the convention they would have held one media briefing, why would they split and hold two briefings? Gunasekara questioned.

By doing so they are showing the media and the entire country that the party has split into two, the Minister said during a press briefing held yesterday (December 16) in Kandy.

“I guarantee that what ever changes the United National Party brings to their constitution they are all false and just for show.

As long as Ranil Wickremesinghe is alive he will always be the leader of the UNP and for another 25 years or so he will continue to serve as the opposition leader of this country, I guarantee this” the Parliamentarian uttered.
