An individual has been hacked to death with sharp weapons in Hekitta, Wattala last night (19), police stated.

Police stated that the murder took place inside the victim’s two-storied house.

Four individuals wearing facemasks arrived at the victim’s house in a three-wheeler and carried out the killing using sharp weapons, police noted.

At the time of the incident, the victim’s wife and two children were also present in the house.

The deceased is a 43-year-old resident of Colombo 15. It is reported that he had rented a house in the area a few months ago and was living with his wife and two children.

Preliminary police investigations have revealed that the deceased had assisted in a shooting incident in 2023 in Mahabage, in which a person was murdered.

No suspects have been arrested thus far. Further investigations are being conducted by the Wattala Police and the Kelaniya Division Criminal Investigation Unit.
