9000 political prisoners including Sarath Fonseka

According to the United Nations there are 9000 political prisoners in Sri Lanka including Sarath Fonseka, Lakshman Kiriella said. The UNP Parliamentarian expressed that he hopes the prisoners will be freed at least when the 2600th Sambuddha Jayanthi is celebrated.


The time has come to give up antipathetic politics and proceed, he further stated during a prize giving ceremony in Kandy today (December 19).
