Mound of earth blocks Norton Bridge–Maskeliya main road

Norton Bridge Police said that traffic movement on the Norton Bridge–Maskeliya main road has been completely halted due to a mound of earth collapsing onto the road.

It is reported that the earth slip had occurred this evening as a result of heavy rainfall in the area.

Police have urged motorists to use alternative routes until the road is cleared and is safe for travel.
