One dead, another injured in Central Expressway accident

An individual has died while another person has been seriously injured and hospitalised following a road accident along the Central Expressway last night (02), police stated.

According to police, the accident took place at around 11:00 p.m. yesterday (02) when a lorry and a bowser collided head-on.

The deceased is reported to be the assistant who was traveling in the lorry.

However, when contacted by Ada Derana, police stated that a person is still trapped under the lorry and efforts are underway to rescue the individual.

Further investigations are underway.
