Two arrested with cocaine worth Rs. 150 million in Panadura

Two suspects were arrested in the Hirana area of Panadura by the Walana Anti-Vice Squad while in possession of 03 kg of cocaine, valued at around Rs. 150 million, police said.

The arrests were made under the instructions of the Director of the Walana Anti-Corruption Unit, SP Udaya Kumara and its Officer-in-Charge, Indika Weerasinghe.

Police recovered 2 kilograms of cocaine from a residence, while the remaining kilogram was found in a luxury car used to transport it. 

An identification card belonging to a currently serving police officer was also seized from the suspects, said police.

According to police, the suspects were allegedly distributing these drugs at nightclubs located in luxury hotels. 

Investigations further revealed that the drug racket is reportedly being coordinated by an individual based in Dubai.
