Landslide warnings issued for seven districts extended

Landslide warnings issued to residents of seven districts owing to incessant rains experienced in parts of the island have been extended.

Accordingly, landslide warnings issued by the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) will be in effect from 4:00 p.m. today (19) to 4:00 p.m. tomorrow (20).

Level-1 (Yellow) warnings have been issued to residents of following areas:

Kandy district: Udunuwara and Udadumbara Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas

Matale district: Naula, Rattota, Ukuwela, Laggala, Yatawatta, Pallepola and Ambanganga Korale Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas

Nuwara Eliya district: Hanguranketha, Ambagamuwa and Walapane Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas

Kegalle district: Mawanella, Galigamuwa, Ruwanwella, Aranayaka, Rambukkana, Yatiyanthota, Kegalle, Bulathkohupitiya and Rambukkana Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas

Ratnapura district: Eheliyagoda, Imbulpe, Kalawana and Ratnapura Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas

Galle district: Nagoda, Elpitiya and Neluwa Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas

Badulla district: Haldummulla and Passara Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas
