Level 2 landslide warnings issued to residents of five districts

Level 2 landslide warnings have been issued to residents of multiple areas in five districts owing to incessant rains experienced in parts of the island.
Accordingly, landslide warnings issued by the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) will be in effect from 5:00 a.m. today (21) to 5:00 a.m. tomorrow (22).
The NBRO stated that Level-2 (Amber) warnings have been issued to residents of the Udadumbara and Yatinuwara Divisional Secretariat Divisions (DSD) and surrounding areas of the Kandy district, Aranayaka, Mawanella, Kegalle, Dehiowita and Yatiyanthota Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas of the Kegalle district, Baddegama, Elpitiya and Nagoda Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas of the Galle district, Eheliyagoda, Ratnapura and Kalawana Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas of the Ratnapura district and the Walallawita Divisional Secretariat Division and surrounding areas of the Kalutara district.
Level-1 (Yellow) warnings have been issued to residents of following areas:
Badulla District: Haldummulla and Passara Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas
Colombo District: Seethawaka and Padukka Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas
Galle District: Yakkalamulla and Neluwa Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas
Kalutara District: Ingiriya, Palindanuwara and Bulathsinhala Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas
Kandy District: Pathahewaheta, Pathadumbara, Udapalatha, Deltota, Doluwa, Pasbage Korale, Ganga Ihala Korale and Udunuwara Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas
Kegalle District: Galigamuwa, Ruwanwella, Warakapola and Bulathkohupitiya Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas
Kurunegala District: Alawwa, Narammala, Mallawapitiya and Rideegama Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas
Matale District: Rattota, Ukuwela, Ambanganga Korale, Naula, Laggala, Pallepola and Yatawatta Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas
Matara District: Welipitiya Divisional Secretariat Division and surrounding areas
Nuwara Eliya District: Ambagamuwa, Hanguranketha and Walapane Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas
Ratnapura District: Imbulpe, Kiriella, Kuruwita and Ayagama Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas
