Methmi Wijesuriya wins 10,000m gold for Sri Lanka in Ranchi

The national record holder Methmi Rasara Wijesuriya won the gold medal in the Women’s 10,000m event at the South Asian Athletics Championships 2025 at the Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium, Morabadi, Ranchi, a short while ago.

Wijesuriya clocked 35:39.95 to win the event.

Ravina Gaikwad of India claimed the silver medal in the event after clocking 34:45.47 while Santoshi Shrestha of Nepal secured the bronze medal.

This is Sri Lanka’s fourth gold medal of the day at the South Asian Athletics Championships 2025.
