South Asian Athletics C’ships: Sri Lanka secures gold in Men’s 4x400m relay

Sri Lanka won the gold medal in the Men’s 4x400m relay event at the South Asian Athletics Championships 2025 at the Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium, Morabadi, Ranchi.

The Sri Lanka quartet completed the penultimate event of the Championship with a timing of 3:05.12.

The Men’s relay team consisted of Omel Sashintha, Ayomal Akalanka, Kalhara Indupa and Kalinga Kumarage.

Kalinga Kumarage also won the gold medal in the 400m individual event.

India finished second in the Men’s 4x400m relay event with a timing of 3:05.38 while Bangladesh secured the bronze medal after clocking 3:15.00.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka won the silver medal in the Women’s 4x400m relay event at the South Asian Athletics Championships at the Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium, Morabadi, Ranchi.

Sri Lanka missed out on the gold medal in the final 100m of the race.

India managed to claim the gold medal in the race.

The 4x400m relay events brought the South Asian Athletics Championships 2025 to a close in Ranchi.

India topped the medals standings after the end of the three-day Championships while Sri Lanka finished second.
