Showers expected in several provinces today

Several spells of showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western Provinces today (28), the Department of Meteorology said.
A few showers may occur in the Northern province and in the Anuradhapura district as well.
Strong winds of about 50-60kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills and in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Northern, North-central and Northwestern provinces and in the Trincomalee and Batticaloa districts.
Meanwhile, the general public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by strong winds.
