2 dead after consuming contents of a bottle floating on the sea

One person from a group of four has reportedly died at a fishing wadiya in Narakkaliya, Puttalam, after consuming contents of a bottle found floating on the sea, while another succumbed to the effects at Puttalam Hospital.

The remaining two victims are currently receiving treatment at the same hospital.

Police said the deceased have been identified as a 28-year-old youth and a 49-year-old man, residents of 4th Post, Puttalam.

It has been discovered that the group of four individuals had been consuming the liquid from a bottle they discovered floating in the sea a few days ago, police said. 

Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by the Norochcholai Police.
