President begins delivering 2026 Budget speech

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has commenced delivering the 2026 Budget speech in Parliament.  

Earlier today, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the 2026 Budget proposals and the presentation of the second reading of the Appropriation of Bill. 

This is the 80th budget of independent Sri Lanka and the second Budget of the National People’s Power-led government.
