Govt. allocates Rs. 6,500 million for Clean Sri Lanka programme

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake says a total of Rs. 6,500 million has been allocated for the “Clean Sri Lanka” project for next year.

The President noted that the “Clean Sri Lanka” project aims to build a society that is clean not only in terms of the environment but also in all aspects.

Accordingly, in a bid to create a clean country in every respect, such as a clean country free from drugs, a clean country free from the underworld, a clean country free from bribery and corruption, a clean country free from corrupt politicians obsessed with power, a clean country with an efficient public service instead of an inefficient public service and a clean country that respects the law and order, a reality, the government has made a large allocation through the budget.

The objectives of the “Clean Sri Lanka” project also include improving ethical policies and responding to a cleaner physical environment and an island-wide moral commitment, the President added further.
