According to Dayasiri Jayasekara’s claims that if Fonseka is released the floods will stop then all conspirators, criminals and wrongdoers convicted of a crime and in remand prison have to be released to make that happen, Public Relations Minister Mervyn Silva said today.

He added that such rhetoric should be kept only for the political arena. At a time when the country is facing destructive floods all parties should come together as one to help Sri Lankans affected by it.

United National Party MP Dayasiri Jayasekara on January 14 said that if Sarath Fonseka is released then all the flooding, the spread of diseases and viruses in the country will end. This divine curse that has befallen the government will last only until Fonseka is imprisoned, he had pointed out.
