Sri Lankan arrested in Rameswaram after traveling to India via boat

A Sri Lankan has been arrested in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu for allegedly entering India illegally, India media reports said.

He had travelled from Sri Lanka by sea in a boat and arrived in Rameswaram on Saturday.

Police said the 34-year-old is a resident of Jaffna.

He had left Jaffna on Thursday night (06) in a fiberglass boat and landed at Vedaranyam in the Nagapattinam district of Tamil Nadu.
