Tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka surpass 2 million in 2025

The number of tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka so far in 2025 has surpassed two million.

The landmark was reached with the arrival of two French nationals, who landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on SriLankan Airlines flight UL-504 from London, UK, at 1:30 p.m.

The couple, residents of Paris, France, are scheduled to spend two weeks in Sri Lanka, engaging in sightseeing and shopping during their stay.

They were welcomed at the airport by Anusha Damayanthi, the Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, along with a group of senior officials from the bureau, as well as senior officials from the Airport and Aviation Services and SriLankan Airlines.
