The heavy rain fall served the people in two ways as power generation will not be a problem now that the reservoirs are filled while farmers have plenty of water for cultivation, Agrarian Services and Wildlife Minister, S.M. Chandrasena said today.

Meanwhile, the Minister also claimed that there was a Trade Mafia operating in the market which is attempting to cause an artificial shortage of rice in the market. However, the Minister was quick to quell the rumours as he stated that there will be no rice shortage as stocks are plentiful.
