Landslide warnings issued for residents of 12 districts extended

Early landslide warnings issued to residents of multiple areas in 12 districts owing to incessant rains experienced in parts of the island, have been extended.
Accordingly, landslide warnings issued by the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) will be in effect from 2:30 p.m. today (24) to 2:30 p.m. tomorrow (25).
Districts and Divisional Secretariat Divisions (DSDs) that have been issued the Level 2 (Amber) landslide warnings, advising people to remain cautious and vigilant, are as follows:
Badulla District: Haldummulla DSD and surrounding areas
Galle District: Nagoda DSD and surrounding areas
Kalutara District: Walallawita, Bulathsinhala and Ingiriya DSDs and surrounding areas
Kandy District: Yatinuwara, Pathahewaheta and Ganagawatakorale DSDs and surrounding areas
Kegalle District: Mawanella DSD and surrounding areas
Matara District: Kotapola and Pitabeddara DSDs and surrounding areas
Ratnapura District: Balangoda, Imbulpe, Kahawatta, Kalawana, Ratnapura, Nivithigala, Ayagama, Elapatha and Kolonna DSDs and surrounding areas
The districts and Divisional Secretariat Divisions that have been issued with the Level 1 (Yellow) warning advising people to remain watchful, are as follows:
Badulla District: Bandarawela, Haputale, Passara and Ella DSDs and surrounding areas
Colombo District: Padukka DSD and surrounding areas
Hambantota District: Katuwana DSD and surrounding areas
Kalutara District: Matugama and Horana DSDs and surrounding areas
Kandy District: Udunuwara, Udapalatha, Thumpane, Pathadumbara, Udadumbara, Ganga Ihala Korale, Pasbage Korale and Panwila DSDs and surrounding areas
Kegalle District: Aranayaka, Rambukkana, Ruwanwella, Deraniyagala, Yatiyanthota, Kegalle, Warakapola, and Galigamuwa DSDs and surrounding areas
Kurunegala District: Mawathagama, Mallawapitiya, and Rideegama DSDs and surrounding areas
Matale District: Naula, Yatawatta, Rattota and Ambanganga Korale DSDs and surrounding areas
Matara District: Pasgoda DSD and surrounding areas
Nuwara Eliya District: Ambagamuwa and Kotmale DSDs and surrounding areas
Ratnapura District: Openayake, Weligepola, Embilipitiya and Kiriella DSDs and surrounding areas
