13 persons trapped on Manampitiya Bridge rescued by SLAF helicopter

Thirteen individuals who were stranded on the Manampitiya Bridge in Polonnaruwa have been safely rescued by a SLAF Bell-212 helicopter.

The rescue operation was conducted by a helicopter of the No. 7 Helicopter Squadron of the Sri Lanka Air Force, based at Hingurakgoda.

It has been reported that all rescued individuals have since been transported to safer locations.
