Nine reported missing after landslide in Welimada

Nine people are reported missing after a landslide struck the Rendapola area of Welimada.

The incident had occurred at around 10:15 p.m. last night.

Army rescue teams have reached the site and successfully rescued about 10 people, including three women from Mexico and Argentina, who were trapped.

The rescued individuals are currently being temporarily moved to the Samaraweerapura Mosque.
