23 dead, 10 houses destroyed in Sarasavigama, Peradeniya landslide

Another landslide has been reported from Sarasavigama, Peradeniya owing to heavy rains in the area.

Area residents have confirmed that at least 23 people have died as a result.

So far, 14 bodies have been recovered and search operations are ongoing for the missing individuals.

The landslide has completely destroyed 10 houses.

Local residents have stated that the death toll could still rise.
