Gazette issued declaring 22 districts as national disaster affected areas

A gazette extraordinary has been issued declaring 22 districts as “National Disaster Affected Areas.”

In accordance with the provisions of Section 9 of Part II of the Registration of Deaths (Temporary Provisions) Act, No. 19 of 2010, 22 administrative districts in the country affected by landslides and floods resulting from the effects of Cyclone Ditwah in November have been declared as disaster affected areas through the gazette.

The gazette has been issued by Registrar General Sasidevi Jaladeepan.

The “National Disaster Affected Areas” as follows:

1. Kandy Administrative District
2. Nuwara Eliya Administrative District
3. Badulla Administrative District
4. Kurunegala Administrative District
5. Matale Administrative District
6. Kegalle Administrative District
7. Gampaha Administrative District
8. Mullaitivu Administrative District
9. Anuradhapura Administrative District
10. Colombo Administrative District
11. Jaffna Administrative District
12. Polonnaruwa Administrative District
13. Mannar Administrative District
14. Puttalam Administrative District
15. Ratnapura Administrative District
16. Monaragala Administrative District
17. Batticaloa Administrative District
18. Ampara Administrative District
19. Trincomalee Administrative District
20. Kilinochchi Administrative District
21. Vavuniya Administrative District
22. Kalutara Administrative District
