The government is seeking to nurture a responsible human resource that loves and protects the environment, demonstrates leadership, upholds compassion and a sense of collectivity and values democracy, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya stated.

Prime Minister Amarasuriya made these remarks while addressing the event to mark the ninth phase of the island-wide programme to recognize outstanding GCE Advanced Level achievers, implemented by the Presidential Fund, held at Temple Trees today (14).

The Prime Minister said the Presidential Fund is a people’s fund and as a government, they are working to ensure that it is felt and recognized as a fund that truly belongs to the people.

She added, “All these efforts are undertaken with the aim of developing human capital and moving forward as a nation. What we seek is to nurture a responsible human resource that loves and protects the environment, demonstrates leadership, upholds compassion and a sense of collectivity, and values democracy.”
