People living in low-lying areas of Kaudulla Reservoir urged to remain vigilant

The Department of Irrigation has announced that it expects to open the spill gates of the Kaudulla Reservoir shortly.

The Department stated that approximately 500 cubic feet of water per second will be released into the Kaudulla Oya as a result.

Accordingly, while no flood situation is expected, the Department of Irrigation has requested people living in low-lying areas to remain vigilant.
