The UNP will contest in all the electorates in the local government elections for the first time in their history while a clear message needs to be sent to the government even though it cannot be defeated in the election, UNP Deputy Leader MP Karu Jayasuriya said at a press conference today (January 27) in Colombo.

While addressing some of the pressing concerns in the country, MP Jayasuriya added that the members who joined the UNP recently from the SLFP will not get a chance to contest for the elections as priority would be given to the senior members.
