Bus strike in Negombo- Colombo route

Private buses in the Negombo –Colombo main road have started a bus strike from today (January 29) morning, Chairman of the Private Bus Owners’ Association Gemunu Wijeratne said. It is said that the cause of the strike is a clash that occurred yesterday between the long distance bus operators and short distance operators in the bus route.


Several people have been injured from the clash between both parties and one individual who was critically wounded was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Gemunu Wijeratne revealed.
