Hikkaduwa UC budget defeated for the third time

The budget of the Hikkaduwa Urban Council, which is under the control of the National People’s Power (NPP), has been defeated for the third time.
The Urban Council convened yesterday (24) under the chairmanship of Yasaswin Godakanda to approve the budget proposal.
During the vote, nine members voted in favour of the budget while 10 councilors opposed it, resulting in the defeat of the NPP-led budget by one vote.
