Police raid ganja chena at national park

Police have discovered a two acres plantation of cannabis at the Lunugamvehera National Park. Lunugamvehera police have seized 16 kg and 300g of dried ganja and 10 kg of ganja seeds which were found at the chena.


The ganja chena, spanning some 2 acres and containing ganja plants a least 8 feet high, was later destroyed by setting fire to them, the police stated.


Meanwhile a woman has been arrested at Dimbulgamuwa, Kegalle possessing 5 kilograms of marijuana. According to the Kegalle police the woman had been operating as a ganja dealer in the area for several years.
