Sri Lanka Rupee depreciates by 5.6% against US dollar in 2025

The Sri Lanka rupee had depreciated by 5.6 per cent against the US dollar in 2025, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has confirmed.

According to the CBSL, the buying rate of the US dollar was Rs. 306.29 while the selling rate stood at Rs. 313.83 at the end of trading yesterday.

On December 31, 2024, the buying rate of the US dollar was Rs. 288.32 while the selling rate was Rs. 297.01, the CBSL noted.
