The Foreign Employment Bureau (FEB) has stated that no problems have occurred regarding the safety and security of the Sri Lankans working in Egypt despite the tense situation in the country.

Around 3500 Sri Lankans are employed in Egypt while most of them work in garment factories outside the limits of Cairo, the Chairman of the FEB, Kingsley Ranawaka said. It was added that the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Egypt has taken all measures to ensure the safety of the Sri Lankans in the country.
